Location Plaosan
Unique tourist attractions and beautiful that you should visit the Twins Exotic Plaosan
The complex is located in the village Plaosan Bugisan, District Prambanan, Klaten regency, Central Java Province. Its location is also not so far from the temple complex of Prambanan Temple Sewu and also very famous for its legend Jonggrang it. If the distance towards Plaosan of Prambanan is approximately 1.5 kilometers to the east.

And besides its location very close to the location of the Prambanan temple, there are still some other temples located around Plaosan. For example, Ratu Boko Temple, Kalasan, Candi Ijo, Candi Lumbung, Sojiwan Temple, Temple Bubrah, Banyunibo Temple, Candi Sari, and Barong.

But although the layout Plaosan very close to Prambanan Temple which is the largest Hindu temples, both are very different and unrelated. Plaosan Buddhist temple whose characteristics are more like Borobudur Temple.

History Plaosan

Some historians argue that the strong suspicion regarding the construction of Plaosan this year is at about the 9th century, precisely built by Queen Sri Kahulunan during the reign of King Rakai Pikatan of the kingdom of Mataram Hindu or ancient Mataram.

According Cri Kalununan inscription which dates to the year 842 AD, mentioned that the temple was built by Queen Lor Sri Kahulunan supported by her husband. According to De Casparis a historian, Sri Kahulunan is owned by Pramodhawardani title. She was the daughter of King Samarattungga derived from Buddhist Sailendra dynasty. Pramodhawardani then married to a descendant of the Hindu Sanjaya dynasty namely Rakai Pikatan.

Architecture Plaosan

In general, the complex area Plaosan there are two temple complexes are Plaosan Lor (Plaosan North) and Plaosan Kidul (Plaosan South). And one interesting thing here is that there is relief in this temple is very detail and smooth. Models such as the subtle relief can also be found in the relief Borobudur, Sewu, and Candi Sari.

World's largest temple building in the complex is located on Plaosan Lor. Will be found in the courtyard of the leading 2 pairs of large Dwarapala statue facing each other, that is at the entrance to the north and south of each pair. In the courtyard to the north, can be found a square terrace made of rock. At the top of the porch is believed to become a building of wood, and was destroyed. And on the porch there was once believed Dhyani Buddha statue.

The main building Lor Temple complex consists of 2 large twin temples 2 levels. One temple in the north, and another in the south. The two temples facing west. The temple is on the north side is often called the Women temple decorated with many reliefs for women, while on the south side of the temple called the Temple of Man because many decorated with men.

On the outside of the main temple there are 116 pieces of small stupas surrounding it. There are also 58 pieces of ancillary temples. Both main temple buildings each have two levels which formerly separated by wood between levels. Downstairs and upstairs each have 3 small rooms. While in the middle of the room there are several statues temple Dhyani Bodhisattva of which half was missing.

Plaosan temple complex is in stark contrast with Plaosan Lor. Plaosan temple layout is on the south side Plaosan Lor, and a separate position somewhat away by highway. But unfortunately this complex shape is just a retuntuhan and debris alone. Temple complex Plaosan there are only a few perwara or small temples.

Cultural mixing Hindu - Buddha in Plaosan

Although Plaosan is a Buddhist temple, but obviously the architecture of the building and its reliefs is a mixture of the two styles of Buddhist and Hindu. This happens because the construction period at the start of the collapse of the Buddhist Sailendra dynasty in Java, and started the rise of the religious Hindu Sanjaya dynasty.

Besides other factors allegedly due to both cultural mixing that occurs when Pramodhawardani Buddhist Rakai Pikatan married to a Hindu. And their marriage marked the start of the mixing of cultures which also makes Plaosan more unique and exotic.

parangtritis legend
Lots of sticking phenomena and mysteries of the story so far Nyi Roro Kidul. From the mundane to the extraordinary always a concern throughout the community who believe in the legend of the Queen of the South. Nothing wrong if these phenomena are studied more deeply. Their knowledge of course phenomena related to Nyai Roro Kidul will be answered scientifically.
But if you talk about the myth, of course, already entered into the world of trust and can not be attributed to the scientific world. Here nature of our minds start playing to accept or reject the opinions of people who may not be in accordance with the scientific evidence that has been obtained. One example of the myths that still are the pros and cons is a myth Nyai Roro Kidul. If the story The Queen of the South is described in sufficient detail, of course, requires a very long time to explain it. Even though no matter how long, Roro Kidul Nyai story will not run out to tell. One by one fact or event that is associated with Nyai Roro Kidul would present itself so we are impossible to know all that concerns about Nyi Roro Kidul in detail and complete.
With the many stories and paintings that raised the Queen of the South Sea, making the name of Roro Kidul Nyai increasingly popular among the people until now. Moreover, the place associated with Nyai Roro Kidul is very warm discussion. Some argue as a liaison between Queen Spirit worlds with the human world. There are only as a figure of the queen incarnation. Even the fact that the longest outstanding is hiring "employees" to serve Nyi Roro Kidul. Where is that place??? For those who wish to apply please come to Parangtritis by wearing clothes / green shirt. Requirements are very easy right?? But we suggest you do not apply for a job there, because it is guaranteed you will not return to the alive. Why is that? People assume that the person to Parangtritis beach wear / green T-shirts would be a slave to the Nyai. The proof is the discovery of the bodies that had many wearing green around the coast and many families lost several members of her family pleaded with the latter traits wearing a green shirt. If you want to prove yourself please try to location.
Love magic
It also was experienced by a visitor beach. According to the people around these visitors may not know the history of the green shirt on the beach Parangtritis. After not long in Parangtritis beach, there is one family looking for missing family members with the assistance of the coast guard there. Unfortunately, in half a day they did not find that the person they are looking for. After a few days, there was the discovery of the bodies reportedly wearing green shirt seashores. The corpse was finally identified one of the family members who lost yesterday.
In addition to these myths, the scientific world turned out to prove the presence of iron sands which are located around the coast. This sand is not textured tight and can withstand heavy loads on it (like mud). Sand is also easily carried by water currents. If we dwell on the waterfront, it was not long leg we will be drowned and buried in the sand that the waves brought Parangtritis beach
